Semester 1
Final GPR:
Semester's Classes: ISTM 310, ISTM 320, MGMT 363, Directed Studies
Semester 1 Reflection
ISTM 310- Network Communications and Infrastructure
ISTM 310 has been one of my favorite, yet most challenging classes thus far. Everything I learned throughout the semester was something completely new. Prior to this course, I had no understanding of what a network is, or how it works. However, now I am able to explain the OSI 7 Layer Model, the TCP/IP Model, Virtualization, DHCP, TCP vs UDP, BGP vs RIP, Subnet Mask, Prefix Length, and more. In ISTM 310, I also learned about security features I previously saw as annoying or unnecessary, such as duo authentication or long passwords. I learned about the CIA triad (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability), as well as common network attacks, such as a DDoS Attack, and how to protect a network against these attacks.
Aggie 100
Attending Aggie 100 was a very inspirational; I found myself so happy for the companies being recognized and motivated to one day return to Aggie 100 as a business owner. I was motivated to see that all the 100 business owners took the risk to open their own business, and through much resiliency and hard work, have achieve great success. During the ceremony, I was able to network with the family of one of the recognized businesses, as well as announce the businesses that placed on 90-81. I am honored to have add the opportunity to join Aggie 100, and very grateful for the donations that made my attendance possible.

Raymond Idea Challenge
The Raymond Idea Challenge was a pitch competition where my team and I pitched our idea that we started during the Startup Fastpass. I have never attended a pitch competition, so I was slightly nervous, yet also excited for the experience. Our team pitched in front of two different groups of judges, and then we were scored on a 1 to 10 scale. Although we did not place within the 9 scores out of 40 teams, the feedback we received from the judges was very valuable for us to move forward. Our main takeaways from the event is to do more in-depth research on our competitors, and to do more customer discovery in our target market of California.
