Semester 1 Reflection
Finding My Passion
One realization I have had since beginning college is that I need to focus on finding my passion, rather than focusing on what will look best on my resume. Looking back to high school, I believe I traded opportunities to find my passion for opportunities that would solely enhance my resume. Moving forward, I want to take full advantage of all the opportunities and organizations that are offered to help me discover my passion, and help build the skills I will need for my future.
Studying Efficiently
During the first semester, I also learned more about what it means to study, and how to do it efficiently. At the beginning of the semester, I thought studying meant rewriting my notes, and then re-reading them. However, I noticed that wasn't wasn't giving me the grades I wanted. So I changed the way I studied and decided that I would make my notes into a quiz. Thus, instead of simply re-reading my notes, I would be testing myself, and forcing myself to think about my notes and the question.
Time Management
During the first semester, I also started to learn more about time management. I adopted a new habit of studying where I study for 25 minutes, and then take a 5 minute break. This has allowed me to keep myself accountable, and not exhaust myself too quickly.
Religion
During this first semester, I have also learned so much more about God, the power of prayer, what it means to follow God, and why I should live for him.
Going to the second semester of my freshman year, I hope to continue learning about myself, my faith, my passion, and my study habits.
